Setting up Availity 2FA with Bitwarden
Helpful tip: open Bitwarden on one monitor and Availity on the other
- Start the setup in Availity. Log in to your Availity account and begin the process of setting up 2FA. When you do, Availity will display a QR code and/or a secret key.
- Add the key to Bitwarden. nually enter the key: Copy the secret key and paste it into the "Authenticator Key (TOTP)" field when editing the Availity entry in your Bitwarden vault.
- Generate the code. After you save the entry in Bitwarden, it will start generating the 30-second, six-digit TOTP codes for your Availity account.
- Complete the Availity setup. Copy the six-digit code from Bitwarden and enter it into the prompt on the Availity website to confirm and activate your 2FA.
What to expect when logging in
Once you have linked Availity with Bitwarden's authenticator, the process for logging in will be seamless:
- After entering your username and master password for Availity, you will be prompted for a six-digit code.
- When using autofill from Bitwarden, the TOTP code will automatically be copied to your clipboard, allowing you to paste it quickly into the field and complete your login.
